The Promise of Peace
In that children’s Bible, I saw Jesus with children and animals around him, all sitting sweetly at peace. I knew I wanted him in my life.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
— John 14:27 (ESV)
The Problem
We don't always feel that peace. We do wrong things, disobey, and we ignore God. The Bible calls this sin, and it separates us from Jesus who made us. We can't fix that separation on our own, no matter how hard we try to be a 'good' person.
The Good News!
Jesus isn't just a man in a picture. He is the Son of God. He came to earth, lived a perfect life, and died on a cross to pay the price for your sins. Then, He rose from the grave, proving He is God and has the power to give us new life.
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
— Romans 5:8 (ESV)
Your Next Steps
God is speaking to you today, just like He spoke to me when I was little. Here’s how you follow Jesus and accept Him as your forever friend, Lord, and Savior:
- Pray this simple prayer: "Dear God, I know I do wrong things sometimes and disobey. I am sorry. Thank You for sending your son Jesus to die on the cross and come back to life so He can forgive me. Please forgive me and make my heart clean. I want Jesus to be my forever friend. Help me follow Him every day. Amen."
- Tell your mom or dad that you prayed this prayer.
- Tell your mom or dad that you want to start going to church every Sunday.
